House dust mite allergen immunotherapy for monosensitized versus polysensitized patients with allergic rhinitis: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Most patients with allergic rhinitis are polysensitized. The efficacy of house dust mite (HDM) allergen immunotherapy (AIT) compared between monosensitized and polysensitized patients remains limited.

An online survey of clinical practice for allergic rhinitis among the Asia-Pacific representatives

Physicians’ knowledge and practice which are consistent with evidence-based guidelines can improve allergic rhinitis (AR) patients’ care. Compared with western countries, the available literature about Asian doctors’ perceptions and clinical practices regarding Allergic Rhinitis and its Impacts on Asthma (ARIA) guidelines is limited.

Expression of ASC splice variant found in Japanese patients with palindromic rheumatism is regulated by rs8056505 single nucleotide polymorphism and interleukin-1 beta

Palindromic rheumatism (PR) is an infrequent form of periodic arthritis. Based on the similarity of the pathogenesis of PR to autoinflammatory syndromes, we previously found that the dominant-active splice variant of the inflammasome adaptor protein, apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD (ASC), which lacks exon 2 (Δexon2), is expressed in Japanese patients with PR.

Oleuropein attenuates inflammation and regulates immune responses in a 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene-induced atopic dermatitis mouse model

Olive (Olea europaea Linn) leaves contain a phenolic compound oleuropein (Ole) has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory activities. However, whether Ole might be an effective treatment for atopic dermatitis (AD) remains unknown.

Systemic absorption of epinephrine compared between the intranasal and intramuscular routes of administration in healthy adults

Epinephrine 5 mg administered via the intranasal (IN) route was shown to be bioequivalent to epinephrine 0.3 mg administered via the intramuscular (IM) route in our preliminary study.

Efficacy of antimalarial agents to prevent the progression of discoid lupus erythematosus to systemic lupus erythematosus: A retrospective cross-sectional study

Discoid Lupus Erythematosus (DLE) patients have the potential to developing Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) at a later time. The prescription of antimalarial agents might be beneficial to prevent this progression but the validated data is still lacking.

A randomized controlled study comparing the efficacy of soap versus soap-plus-microwave disinfection for irrigation device in children with acute rhinosinusitis

Nasal irrigation is an effective component of sino-nasal disease management. Nonetheless, bacterial contamination is worrisome.

A web-based survey on the behavior of moisturizer used in adults with and without atopic dermatitis in Thailand

Moisturizers play an important role in restoring the skin barrier. They should be used to treat and prevent eczema, especially in atopic dermatitis (AD).

Biological properties of reverse ankyrin engineered for dimer construction to enhance HIV-1 capsid interaction

Assembly and budding in the late-stage of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) production rely on Gag protein polymerization at the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane. We previously generated a monomeric ankyrin repeat protein (Ank1D4) that specifically interacts with capsid protein (CAp24) of HIV-1, however this protein had modest binding affinity.
