Level of interleukin-18 binding protein is significantly different in patients with anaphylaxis than urticaria

Acute urticaria is a common cutaneous disease encountered in children, while anaphylaxis can show cutaneous symptoms as well as systemic symptoms. One study found that urticaria tends to precede anaphylaxis, but studies on the different role of eosinophils and related cytokines in anaphylaxis and urticaria are lacking.

Urticaria, angioedema, and type I hypersensitivity reactions associated with fibrinolytic agents

Several clinical trials of fibrinolytic agents have reported the occurrence of allergic reactions, in addition to hemorrhage. These reactions might worsen patient outcomes, especially by causing life-threatening type I hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis; however, there is a scarcity of data in this regard.
